Emulation Retroarch on Switch Crashes on opening a second game

Hi,
I have an issue with Retroarch on my hacked Switch and I was hoping someone might be able to help me.
When I open the first game after starting Retroarch, it works fine. But if I close the content and open another game, regardless for which system, it just crashes the app and it says "The Software was closed because an error occured".

This happens every time.
I downloaded Retroarch from the official website this morning.
I'm on 18.1.0|AMS

Any help would be much appreciated!

Similar error, except in my case, it's immediately after closing the content.
