I'm trying to make my own FILTER for RetroArch-Wii and I thought that maybe I could open a FILTER file with Visual Basic or Notepad++ but all I get is text but not the code.

Does anyone here knows how to open such files?
Any software or IDE that I could use?

I don't know if this is the right forum, but if I posted in "Computer Technology" I'd feel the same since goal is RetroArch-Wii.

I don't think filters or overlays work in the more recent versions of retroarch-wii
You're right.
Overlays and Filters have been broken with some cores.
But somehow Filters works with Gambatte and MGBA. Overlays won't.
From RetroArch-Wii 1.9.1 everything's broken.

About my question, someone in Reddit explained me that Filters are pre-compiled with RetroArch builds and in order to modify a FILTER file I need source code.
I just wanted to get something like the TV filter from Snes9X GX but for RetroArch-Wii.

In this thread you'll find what you're looking for.
Everything can be done with my RA cores and overlays pack
