How do I get Marvel vs Capcom to work on RetroArch? I tried the FBA version of the ROM (not the MAME version) and it crashes to the home screen every time I try. I tried both the CPS1 and CPS2 emulators and they do the same thing. I tried Marvel Vs Capcom 2 but I could not find it in FBA format (only in MAME). I really want to play this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the proper romset? Are you loading a clone rom instead of a parent rom? Those are the only reasons I think could be causing the crash. Well, that and not loading the right game in the right emulator if you're using the separate FBA versions (i.e. trying to load, for example, SF2, a CPS1 game with FBA CPS2).

Also, MVC2 runs on a Dreamcast-based hardware, not CPS2.

Is this open-source?

I just hope someone takes on the mantle if they aren't improving PCSX Rearmed, because I get full-speed menus and codec calls in MGS1 but the gameplay ranges from slow-mo in overhead view to really slow in first person mode, but even a consistent 10fps improvement would be a game-changer.

It's not due to lack of effort. There's not a huge amount of scope for improvements on such limited hardware. It's impressive that it runs as well as it does.

The best thing to hope for would be for somebody to implement hardware acceleration, but this would be a mammoth undertaking.

We will not have news those days, Aliaspider didn't worked for Retroarch for 1 month.
I guess that when he will have more free time, he will be back.

Everything in the latest stable release and recent nightly releases seems to be broken in one way or another for me (weird emulation problems, retroarch crashing randomly or when started). Guess I'll switch back to an older stable release for now.

MVC2 is CPS3 if I'm not mistaken so I don't think it's even supposed to work. I can't get the first one to run either though :(

- MVC2 needs Naomi BIOS to run, MAME has major issues running anything Naomi. So in other words, you will sadly not be able to play MVC2 on anything that can't emulate Naomi. I should know, I wanted to emulate it on my PSP years ago, didn't work.:(

Well I will be honest; I searched all day and only found FBA format ROMs on one website, and a ton of the ones there were not even 1mb in size, but two were 20+MB so I tried those and neither worked. I'd try another download but I literally cannot find it anywhere (Marvel vs Capcom 1).

Isn't Naomi essentially a Dreamcast in arcade form? Even if you could get it working I doubt you'd get a playable framerate.

Using the DSP driver also stops the emulator from making weird noises in the background when you press the Home Button.

This is nice to know. This makes it worth it. Do you know if it fixes the issue with putting the 3DS in sleep mode with Retroarch on and resuming but with garbled sounds is fixed also?
Less processing resources for the main CPU I think, it aliviates the stress a little bit by using the hardware in charge of the sound of the 3DS . At least that's what I think it does.

I see, is there a guide on how to obtain the plugin? Or is it a legal thing?

You can dump it yourself and you need to do so for each 3DS you own, I think it is console specific.
Search for DSP Dumper (3DS) or something similar, and it should appear rather quickly on Google.

Once you dump it with the app, don't forget to ENABLE the RetroArch emus to use DSP underSettings.

Thank you very much. <3 I've seen DSP Dumper before, but I wasn't sure if I needed the 3DS' DSP or like, an actual plugin made specifically for Retroarch, like some other Emulators on PC use.

Sure. :)
After you get the DSP dumped, don't forget to enable RetroArch to use the DSP file under Settings.
I don't remember if it's under General or Audio, but it's under one of those two settings.
