Homebrew RetroArch collection error

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I run RetroArch with QuickNES core, and I scan my directory with NES roms, it crashes and restarts my 3DS.

Has anyone else gotten this? Anyone know a workaround or solution? At first I thought it was because my SD card had a space in the partition name, or that it was because I use Mac OS X and it creates dot-underscore files with extended attributes, but after solving those things it's still happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

edit: seems this was fixed in 1.5.0. or kind of fixed. It now scans the directory, but it doesn't add anything. Still, that would seem to be a different problem...

I stopped using retroArch for the same reason, try out VirtuaNES, it runs like a beast, and never crashes. Plays all games at 60 FPS, with no Audio Glitches!

You can create a playlist manually, you can use a .bat script to make it a bit easier.

Why retroarch crashes while scanning roms, i've no idea. But if it does scan and don't add games it's because the rom crc doesn't match with the internal database.

Using the script will add all your roms, crc match or not.

Wait, you're using OSX. You have to do it manually, sorry.

-Create a file:

Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System.lpl

-For every game you want have in your playlist add:

*replace the first two lines​

sdmc:/retroarch/roms/NES/punch out.zip
Punch Out!
DETECT
DETECT
00000000|crc
Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System.lpl

Copy the file to:
SD:/retroarch/cores/playlists/

Thanks a lot for giving me an example This is very helpful. I might actually do this - although I've done a workaround, I edited the config file and changed the initial directory to /nes_roms/. So it always opens my list of games anyway when I start the game browser. But I think this method might be nicer so I'll have a look.
