I have a Retro Freak console (first model, bought in 2016 in Akihabara) that never worked well and was stored for years. Now I want to try it again because I collect Japanese game cartridges.
When I turn it on, it stops at the "Retro Freak" logo screen.
I can enter a special menu from the microSD card and tried the options to clear memory and reset to factory settings, but it still stops at the logo.
There is an option to update the system from the external storage, but I don’t have the update file. I contacted the company, but they don’t give support outside Japan or share the update files anymore.
I also tried a different power adapter, but it didn’t help.
Does anyone know a way to fix this or has experience with this problem?
