I did a ctr image transfer to a lower firmware and i lost my backup save data. Is there a way to get it back? Specifically for project x zone 2 i backed up my save data, did the transfer and now all my saves are gone.

If you backed up the save data through Checkpoint or JKSM but cannot find it on the SD card, it may be recoverable if the file hasn't been written over yet. Try checking your card with Recuva to see if can still pull the save out, but don't hold your breath if nothing comes up.
