Hardware Resetting 3DS system transfer timer?

Hi,

Just a quick question. I got my new 3DS XL used today, and when I went to system transfer, I got a message saying I would have to wait 3 days before system transferring. I guess this is because the previous owner system transferred to another 3DS.

Can this timer be reset or do I have no choice but to wait it out?
