I've figured out how to add my own cheats but I can't get one cheat working it either doesn't work or just makes the game crash. It's the always shiny code for Fire Red.

Likely one that's related to patching within the ROM code. Those won't work, this engine is super limited and overall, kind of garbage in comparison to real dedicated cheat engines.

Reading the cheat files isn't the hard part, it's integrating the codes that's hard because RAW codes are never posted online (simply put, they don't really exist), converting what exists for cheats isn't easy either because not every code is guaranteed to be in the right format, let alone guaranteed to work, not to mention you can't use every code because of how limited the RAW engine is. Overall, this isn't a newbie friendly process, I wouldn't mess with it if you don't know what you are doing. The engine itself is aged to the point that it's obscure, the EZ-Flash team knows this too because it's not the first time developers of GBA flash cartridges have used this engine. They do so because it's more simplistic compared to the more technically advanced engines such as Action Replay, GameShark, etc. This engine is mostly intended for development based purposes rather than average consumer purposes (mainly with emulation to be exact), the main intent being for debugging and what not, with how minimal it is though, there isn't much you can do with it other than making flat changes. Some games are dynamic in nature (dynamic meaning things constantly change), because some games handle data dynamically, this engine is useless against it, hence why you get more out of the advanced engines compared to RAW.

No, these cheats aren't compatible with that model.

Just to let everyone know, I'm aware a new EZ-Flash GBA cartridge is being made, but I'm still going to work on the databases for the Omega model, because I know not everyone is going to buy the new one considering the price and what not. Even if everyone did, I'm still going to continue working on it until people have something useful for it later on down the road. I'm not one to abandon stuff that I start after all.

I'll be getting the new one, but it looks like the kernel/cheats is updated but the same :/ so theoretically, it shouldn't be different from the database you're creating, based on the OS appearance

I noticed that myself after watching a video. At least that means what I'm doing will work for both.

A bit of an update for people about the cheat databases for the EZ-Flash Omega. I know it's been a long while since my last post but things have been a bit rough and busy on my end, nonetheless, I recently came up with a more clever idea on how I could go about the process of making the database for the Omega. I decided to pursue my original idea of making a proper and more dedicated cheat database for the Game Boy Advance, with this idea in mind, I can translate my work into the Omega cheat database more appropriately and the process would be faster. What makes it faster is the sense that I would know which cheats will and won't work for the Omega database, it would just be a matter of translating the ones that will work for the EZ-Flash Omega.

Seriously appreciate this. Got the Definitive Edition, and still willing to beta test on the original and the newer model.

Thanks guys! Still got a bit of ways to go, but at least I'm not having to work backwards anymore lol. I'm still working on getting my hands on a Definitive Edition myself, I lack the funds currently for it so that's a shame for the time being. Then again, it does give the Definitive Edition some time to mature a little bit, sometimes buying things right when they come out can have its side effects.
