Heh, AHK is genius, you can make your computer use itself if you know programming. Plus it has it's own language

What if... holding different buttons when loading the 3DS performed different actions? Like L = HBL, R = GameCard A = Some Cool game. etc....

Screengrab your home menu (use NTR for higher resolution than the default), crop/cut-out in photoshop (or image editing software of your choice). Prob best to set your home menu theme to one of the basics to make it simpler to isolate the image elements you need.

Can't you just use Y+Ddown to get a screenshot of your Home Menu ?

Yes. I was just pointing out that higher-res grabs can be achieved using NTR. The lo-res default grabs probably aren't good enough to make icons from.

But how can a screenshot be higher than the screen resolution?

I think it grabs GPU frames, which can be upscaled without much quality loss. Or maybe Y+Down makes a downscaled screenshot.

The ones you take from the menu come in hideous JPG. It's the same resolution but all horribly compressed.
