So long story short, my buddy's switch had a bad digitizer (cracked), so I offered to replace it for him. He has a patched switch, so as I've done in the past, I swapped my non-patched switch's board in with his game card reader to boot Hekate and do the calibration thing. Well, problem is, no matter what I do, it won't boot. It's just a black screen. I know for a fact my board is good and non-patched. It's in autoRCM mode. Last time I used it was maybe a year or so ago, so it's on maybe version 14.something? But I have tried fresh new downloads and updates of atmosphere and Hekate. I've tried two different SD cards, both fat32 and exfat. Rekado and TegraRCM... No matter what, it turns on, black screen, slight micro flash then another black screen for good.
Does anyone know what the hell is going on? Do I need to update my Switch board to a newer firmware to read the game card reader? His switch was on version 18.something Iirc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ok. Update...
Turns out the display ribbon cable was half a mm off on one side, causing it not to boot. Fixed that and did the calibration in Hekate and...
...it gets stuck at the Nintendo Switch logo once the v2 board goes back in. Remove GCR and v2 boots fine.
Any ideas?
