I have bought an N3DS XL which already has CFW installed, I don't have any idea what kind of CW has been installed however it is on 11.4

My problem is that it only has a 4 GB SD card, which I'd like to replace to 32 GB.

If I remove the 4 GB SD card, copy paste all the files into the 32 GB one, insert it back into the N3DS XL everything will work fine?
Is there any steps which may be needed?

Also, I still have a Gateway card which I used for my normal 3DS.
Now that I have CFW with 11.4, is it possible to use the Gateway card, if I ever want it, or not? It may be easier to play some 3DS games that way, however it is not too important... I am just interested.

Yes just copy paste.

GW only works up to 11.2 unless I'm mistaken. If you use it on a later firmware you might loose your CFW.

Make sure that the new card has the MBR partition format. I recommend making an image of the current SD beforehand (in case of failure). After you do the above, you should be fine just copying all of the content from the old card to the new one. Be sure to check the FAQ on 3ds.guide for more info.
