Hey guys,

I thought of this for quite a while, but I only tried it today.

I'll keep a long story short, and just post the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KQr_X4GzeM

The description is under the video!

This should work very pretty much every game that uses a battery to save the game data. So not just Gameboy games. :)

Enjoy, and share with everyone! (Before it's to late for more people!)

Sorry the video was gone for some reason, it's back now.

And good, glad I could help. :)

Ha! I actually wanted to try this in a much more complicated way today, by using wires to keep the SRAM powered.

Glad this works, will try it when I get home. Thanks a lot! :)

Haha that's quite a timing then. :P

I actually tried that first, by adding a secondary battery, which made it a total of 6v.. But I was like, it can handle up to 5v I believe.. so... lets risk it.
But it didn't work out, so the save file was gone.
So please for the sake of your save file, don't try it like your method, it won't work.

But this method works, though. :D

Heh reminds me of some of the old CPS "suicide battery" stuff ( http://www.arcadecollecting.com/dead/dead.html ). Anyhow good work and I will note anybody attempting this with wires note that not all battery chemistries are created equal so mixing them up is not best practice (this is the reason you are told on the sides of batteries not to mix different brands).

As a person who revived his Sonic Advance 2 cartridge that turned out to be fake by wiring up the original battery with a duracell AA battery I can happily proclaim that cartridges don't seem to mind at all. :P
