Ok, this sounds like a stupid question, and it probably is. I have GM9 and Luma 9.1 and over 100 CIAs installed on my N3DSXL. My NNID is still attached to this 3ds. Is that risky? Should I be trying to remove my NNID? I have been scouring GBATEMP and reddit all afternoon trying to figure this out.

My best idea right now is to remove my SD card and do a system transfer, but then skip the part about loading it onto another system.
I have also seen a few people talking about doing a NAND backup/restore. That seems extreme. Last time I restored a NAND it didn't go real well. It works, but I have not been able to install any game CIAs on that system.
OOORR, do I just format system memory in the system settings? Would I still have CFW after that? Would my games work once putting the SD back in?

I am going to be putting CFW on a 3ds for a friend of mine and he has tons of money invested in the eshop and is worried about getting his account banned.
What advice should I give him for safely using the eshop?

Aaaand finally bonus question. Is there a way, or even a need to backup saves from eshop games before installing CFW. I know how to use checkpoint and JKSM, but you can't really use them before CFW is installed.

But what if nintendo puts out a patch next week? My friend who has hundreds of dollars invested in the eshop and no knowledge of CFW might get banned? It's really peace of mind / insurance policy for future patches. Or do you think we're just being paranoid?
