Hardware Remove USB Write-Protect

Hello, so I have this USB that somebody gave me. It's a simple 2GB usb. The problem is this drive is not your normal drive. It is some USB with pharmacy files on it, like for a new patient of some medicine. This drive is recognized as a CD drive AND a USB.

The reason the USB has nothing on it is because i ran clean on it in DISKPART.

I'm wondering if there is a way I could just wipe the firmware of it? I don't care if I have to boot into Linux, Mac OS X, or FreeBSD. I just want this usb usable because it looks cool. I've tried the windows registry trick, DISKPART doesn't remove it. Help

Try using Rufus without ticking the box to burn any iso or w/e.
This has worked for me in the past to wipe a USB that has all kinds of weird partitions to just only have one.
