Hacking Remote Play Win 10, Trojan?

edit; removed link, I have learned remote play is poorly implemented on ps3 and is unreliable. Will buy a capture card for pc instead.

Whats the deal with this?
Bitdefender reports 2 viruses found within;
Gen:Variant.Zesty.146818
Trojan.Generic.7695924

Is this app malicious or misidentified as malicious? Anyone use it?

Puzzles me because its referenced in many guides but no mention of the viruses contained within???

jk. but wouldnt recommend that next time. Do you see anything showing in the application log of event viewer when bitdefender snatches up the file? May be a bit of a reach but just a suggestion

regarding clever; clever is you taking a verbal diarrhea dump on my thread and contributing absolutely nothing meaningful i.e. you just repeated my initial post in a hostile manner.

Anyways, I ask because often tools used in scenes like this may be identified as a virus when they in fact have no malicious intent, was wondering if anyone knows the dev of this tool and what the background info is... Let's face it, any tool created in these scenes; they're all viruses, it's just, is it malicious or isn't it and if are anti virus programs are getting it right because sometimes they do not.

Considering He literally mentioned it could contain a virus it would be totally your own fault for getting infected.
EDIT: I used something similar some time ago, Remote play doesn't have a lot of games you can play with though.

Note how it says Generic, meaning it's not matched against a known malware definition but it comes from heuristics

Also note how antivirus (apart from wasting performance) doesn't always have your immediate interest in mind... try checking a known clean crack/keygen or the like with corporate AVs and see the result, sometimes out of malice (Windows Defender vs Microsoft Toolkit, another tool - very old Avast iirc? - literally complained at files called "keygen.exe"), sometimes in good faith (crack = program that edits other programs, most likely this case)

Those can be disastrous too you know and there is always a chance that you had the luck to get a unique virus.

Thanks. Was thinking though, I could edit the games to enable remote play? guess that only gets you so far without access to L3 or R3 buttons?

For me in my situation being new to this scene, it would greatly help just to have access to remote play just for xmb functionality; im going to need to put some time into configuring this thing and we only have one tv atm...

xmb works afaik but some games even with the param.sfo patched will fail to boot or will freeze elsewhere.

Well, did this program come from a respected known developer or not? Im thinking not?

I think the solution im looking for ultimately, buy a linux hdmi capture card that has client apps for all platforms and using my ps3 as the controller. Wonder if ill run into any lag but connection would be 5ghz

Anyone know of any good hardware cards for this use case please pm me.

just what was reported in the op. Good suggestion. Guess ultimately, if the dev is not known or well respected then ill pass on this.

thats really good to know, thx. I plan to only use at home and want to use ps3 controller so 3rd party capture card it is. Dont want to risk crashing elsewhere.

Its simply a 'crack' file, a patch if anything, to Sony's PS3 Remote Play since this software is proprietary to Sony Vaio laptops only, with this 'crack' file, you can use it on any computer Sony or not Sony.
