Hacking [release] Wii U ticket modifier

tik_modifier v1.3​

A tool to edit the tickets so they would be usable with WUPInstaller.

How to use:

Spoiler: If using exe:

Download the EXE from the download link below.
Drag and drop the tik file into tik_modifier.exe and follow the instructions.

Spoiler: If using source code:

Install Python 3.2 or higher, open command window (cmd) and enter the following:

python "path to tik_modifier.py" "path to tik file"

Example:

python C:\WiiU\tik_modifier.py C:\WiiU\install\title.tik

Games tested with:

• New Super Mario Bros. U
• Captain Toad
• Bayonetta

So we have to open title.tik in HxD and if there isnt a 2 in 0xf add it with value 1 no? And value 1 is for??

Wouldn't it be just easier to open in HxD & change the value, Save ? Seems like you complicated it for the average user. If this had a GUI with a "Add .tik" & "Change Value +2 or -2" I could see the use...

Do these work the same way as 3ds tickets or do we actually need the wud files this time around?

You need to get a ticket.

The only way we currently know is to get it from WUD, modify it with this tool.

BTW, I think - 2 is for US games, and + 2 for EUR games.

Very interested to see if Unity projects might work with this. @AboodXD, what do you think about that? I think the title.cert and TMD of the project will be different to a generic cert and TMD, so a modified ticket might not be enough to install it...
Speculating beforehand as I don't want to dive completely blind into it and take the risk.

tmd and tik are used to decrypt the files and tell the number of the decrypted files.
I don't know what cert if for...

Also, we still don't know why does the Wii U use the ticket, other than decrypting and confirming that you bought the game, so...

From loadiine to Wii U? It's possible, I tried with Saviine and it works...
