I'm not changing the size at all though! I checked! Exactly the same amount of bytes in each file.

editwan: oh whoops you just posted a thing i'll test it

edittwo: hey, it's working! QQ, are those supposed to be 'general resources' - or jp, idk - then english, french and spanish

edithree: SUCCESS, REPACKING ROMFS TO TEST MELEE REST NOW

Glad to hear it :) The first resource file is general resources i think, and the other resource files (resource(us_xx)) will reference the same data if it's not language specific. In addition to editing the general resource file, you must also patch the language specific ones as well or it will crash in game. Which is why you see the tool repacking all 4 files :P

Running into an error I haven't run into before - it's popped up for others before, yes, but now all it's doing is messing with me.

It wants the update data for Smash 4 for me to play..

That's an issue with HANS not being able to read the update data (or something like that). You can say no on that screen, but you won't have access to your savegame. You can start without a savegame (it won't interfere with your usual save data) but you won't have access to chars who need to be unlocked.

Therein lies the issues. A, being that I've gotten saving to work before (no recollection of how), and B, I can't play a regular match\classic\all star in order to trigger a new character unlock because of yet another issue of HANS\general homebrew: O3DS+HANS+SM4SH crashes in all of those cases.

Want to notify you that the SM4SHCommand link under 'downloads' in the OP is broken.
EDIT:
Also, are we able to edit the parameters yet? Or will that come later?

Parameters likely can't be edited at all right now. Eh, I wouldn't know.

Worth note: since I can't edit unlockables or DLC, I've pasted Falco's animcmd folder files (at least, the ones I could replace; thanks patch method) over Fox, gonna see if they work now.

Took me a while to realize, because this is the first thing I've truly been able to test, but the patcher for dt seemingly changed nothing at all. Fox still plays the exact same.

How did you repack the game files with 3dstool? Has a bunch of perimeters and I dunno which to use lol

Depends on which files you mean. If you mean the animcmd files that sm4shcommand edits, they don't need repacking. If you mean the full dt archive, they didn't; dtlsextractor can however 'patch' edits into the game.

except for meeeeee

I've never tried patching one character's files over someone else's, so i'm not sure if that would work. All the scripts are called and linked using the animation name's CRC32 as a key. Have you tried ever just editing someone's damage or anything of the sort?

I mean the step(s) after you patch the edits into the dt file to get the file that works with HANs.

I just use Romfsbuilder, i'ts worked fine for me so far

No, no - I mean the dt is literally not edited. Windows claims it hasn't been touched since the end of October, the filesize doesn't change, etc.

Interesting. I would just try in game, it seems to work fine for me. I just ran a patch and compared it to an unmodified copy and there was definitely changes.

I did both check it with windows and by playing - there were no changes. I even deleted my dt, used my source (redumped) dt in it's place, and still nothing changed.

When you were patching, did it say "patch found:" ? If so, are you sure the files that you were patching in were actually changed?

Yes, and I'm pretty sure. It's not like Falco and Fox share movesets. I compared them quite a few times..

I succesfully patched the file for my melee fox mod and now I'm about to test it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Whenever I try to run the romfs I made in HANS, the game will never load.

Edit: for a second I was about to ask for the game.bin you created so I could test it myself, but there's the whole issue of dt not patching, so..
