Now when I load the edited file, my changes are gone!

Yea, it seems that there was a bug that wouldn't save changes unless you manually close the tabs. Saving with them open wouldn't keep changes. I'll fix this in the morning. Sorry for the bugs, not many actually used the tool since release so the more obscure ones are just coming to my attention.

I updated the main post. Refactored it a bit, added a FAQ, Download Section, and information on how to unpack the DT file. I ported Comex's script for those without python. The download is in OP. Just run it from the command line.
Code:
DTLS dt ls output

It doesn't support the new files yet, or the wiiu's indexed DT files, but i will add support for that in the future.

Seems the archive might be broken? Doesn't seem to want to extract the files.

Does it say anything in the command prompt? What about the log file? Does it act like it's extracting (prints out file paths) but you can't find the files? Sorry for so many questions.

Just gives an unkown method error for all the files in the archive then finally says there are no files to extract.

Okay, are you talking about when running my app? Comex's script? or something else?

Sorry the DTLS extractor you just uploaded. I can't actually get the files out of the .zip archive. I just think it is either corrupted or the files didn't copy right. I redownloaded it to be sure it wasn't my end. Just wanted to let you know you should check the upload is all.

Working on it! The reason i took the time to port the script itself is so that i could get a better understanding of the file's structure. Hopefully this will speed things up quite a bit ;)

Looking forward to progress. Smash Modding on Wii was one of my favorite little hobbies back in the day. Good luck!

get hype.jpg, tomorrow release confirmed kappa

Guess that's a sign to start putting my money where my mouth is and work on a few characters seriously.

I heard there's a swordfighter who needs a new sword mechanic. . .

I've run into an Issue when using the DTLS.exe file. I've also encountered this program when i previously tried to do this with dtls.py. I have both dt and ls in the same folder as the DTLS.exe file. when i use a command prompt, it starts to unpack the files. however, when it gets to Output/model/figure/Lucas/body/c00/normal.bch, the unpacker stopped and windows told me that DTLS.exe encountered a problem. Please Help.

Puzzling. You say the same thing happens when you use the python script right? If that is the case, then the only thing I can think of is that the dt archive is corrupted.

Updated DTLSExtractor.

Added support for indexed DT files.
Added version 2 LS file support.
Other misc fixes and optimizations.

This allows the extractor to work with the newer files, and also allows it to extract the WiiU's archives as well (dt00, dt01). Probably gonna work on patch extraction next, then i'll get back to work on the repacker.
