You get a nice prompt. Kernel exploit is needed then it needs to be made into something public and useable. Takes months usually. Could be longer if no kernel.
I guess this could lead to a more stable exploit for <7.55 users as well, since the current kickstart on 7.02 and 7.55 is lazy, to say the least.
 
I posted an image of a webkit exploit only working on like 4.07. it's different depending on the firmware, but you can't do much with it.

Wake me up when we have a proper PS5 cfw in eight years.
The first kexploit on PS4, 1.76 by CTurt, took "just" two years. Of course it doesn't mean anything, but it could be not that far. It is a new system and it probably has kernel vulnerabilities, like every platform.

CFW, on the other hand, probably won't happen again, like those fully featured CFW on PS3 or PSP. But a signature patch for games and homebrew, like the rest of consoles, I can see that in the future.
