Actually, I think I figured out why it's not working. However, I have to step out of the house and I won't have time to work on it until later tonight.

Not sure if it's the same you have found, but I'll share regardless:

Download URL in source code leads to a zip; Hamcha's releases include a zip as well as the standalone CIA for first-time install, while yours ONLY include the standalone CIA.

That's definitely what I found out. Of course it's something as simple as that to forget.

I'm really sorry guys. I thought everything was working.

@KunoichiZ :

Thanks for forking this program :) Since ever, custom paths don't work for updating. Would you look into it, please?

Specifically I think the unpack routine is broken. It can't copy the output stream into the correct directoy and thus doesn't find the data to rename it.

I'll post a log when you need it, but it is very easy to replicate.

If you look at the section where I said what may or may not be coming, you will notice that what you said is there. The unpack thing is broken because there is no zip file for the code to unpack, which was also mentioned in previous posts. I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, and I'm sorry if I'm coming across that way.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Writing to CTRNAND works now? Noice!!!! I'm assuming the updater updates itself automagically?
It's supposed to, but it's currently broken right now as I forgot to include the needed files in the releases. That will be coming later tonight.
when i launch safehax i get Sighaxed FIRM - file not found

someone please help i cant move forward
You're missing a file or two. Make sure you have all the files where they belong.

EDIT: I've uploaded the .zip, but why is 2.0 not asking for an update?

Thanks. But I'd like to request you specify which question you were answering. Sorry for asking two :P

@rickpower Please use the proper threads to ask. There are B9S threads, Luma3DS threads, CFW threads, and a 3DS Noobs Paradise thread. Choose one.

Oh whoops. I was talking about the autoupdater. And yes, this does write to CTRNAND. Sorry about that.

No worries. I should've realized you were answering the question that isn't answered by simply reading the update log. I guess the CTRNAND question was more out of surprise. Thanks for clarifying though! :P

It's okay. I must admit, I didnt read the posts above but I did read your start post, so I assumed that this problem is unknown (your startpost doesn't explicit mention the bug I wrote about or I am too tired to find the section).
If I have nothing to do in the future, I'll fix it myself but atm I have exams to do.

KunoichiZ, will you be registering this with TitleDB? It seems it currently only has Hamcha's version.

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to expand this to include godmode9? I use multi updater to do it right now and when b9s came out last week I altered multi updater's config file to extract the new .firm file format to continue updating but anyway that's beside the point. I've always felt that luma updater is a cleaner and more professional looking app in the sense that it shows which version you have, if there's a need to update and the latest info.

Maybe? I can try to look into it.
