Hi,

some days ago, I wrote a port of the hota engine, to play Heart of the Alien, the sequel of Another World, on Vita.
It's based on the reverse engine made originally by Gil Megidish.

It's officially an entry of the Gekihen contest (vpk and data files can be found on this link)
Also sources can be found here: https://github.com/usineur/hota/releases/tag/vita-1.0

Do not hesitate to point me any problem you can find in the port here.

Enjoy, and good game.

I'm glad you made this post, because I was writing an article on it but couldn't point people to where to give you feedback. Will go back and edit so it points here.

Thanks for the release btw, I have made a series of articles about ports I wanted to see on the PSVita with homebrew and HOTA was one of them, so that's another off the list! :D

Thank you very much for this game.
I see you've ported this game to SDl 2.0 for Vita, would it be possible to port one of the Amiga emus? (Uae4all, Uae4all2 or Uae4arm)
All of the other emus are done with retroarch, sadly Amiga core is not.

Thank you!! excellent port! Could you port Prince of Persia 2?
Thanks... In fact, I have no plan to port POP2 on Vita, as it doesn't exist any open source reverse engine yet, and my skills in this domain are limited...

Thanks... It would be possible, but actually I'm working on other projects for now.

Can someone please upload the HOTA.zip data files? I cannot find a good link anywhere or anything. I know this is 6 years old but I desperately want to have this game on my Vita. I'm wondering if I can just use the same files from the switch port? If so, what do I name the folder I drop in the data folder? Thanks in advance!
