hmm...interesting. maybe the replacement of files in the NAND would make work with cbhc? there's only one file that needs to be changed to alter the theme of the vwii. american systems use 0000001f.app I'm not sure about european consoles, but I'm pretty sure it's different. I can't remember the location for that file. maybe something like that could be done with cbhc?

there's a tutorial somewhere on how to use themes with vwii. don't use the wii method or it will brick the vwii. also, make sure to make a backup of the original file in case something goes wrong.
That's Really Useful ... i have to admit i have not tried this or the other one that came out about a month ago ...simply because they wasn't permanent ... but im hoping one day a CBHC version would be sweet .. i play on a HD Projector Daily To Lose That White Theme To a Dark One Would Be Lovely ..

the vwii one is permanent, so that would be nice. I've heard of some people bricking even using the vwii method. right now, I have mine blue. I haven't been on the vwii for a while, ever since my external hdd died.

Well, it's effectively a 1-line cheat (a plain memory edit too), while it's certainly possible* to figure out where the default value comes from, it's a de facto completely independent effort

* do we have a WiiU emulator with reasonable accuracy and a fairly comprehensive debugger?

How much work would it be to merge both apps into one? The source code is already written and working, we just need someone with programming skills (and interest in this project). Maybe it isn't too much work. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I should tag @FIX94 ? He would know if this possible.

So I'm trying this on an American Wii U, but it doesn't seem to work. The Wii U Plugins work fine for me otherwise, but the dark mode one seems to have no effect. Anyone have any ideas on why? I'm on the latest Wii U plugin loader, the one that the github says it was tested and working on.

Not sure where to get it, but even then it is kinda useless. You need to launch the dark mode every single time. It won't show up on boot.

While this is true, I typically keep my Wii U on, turn the Gamepad's screen off with padcon, and put it in the charging dock. As such, I can go quite a long time before having to turn off or reset the Wii U, so I'd appreciate the dark theme option.
