Domains can not be bought for 30 days after expiry. If the guy does forget, he has time to renew it before someone else can buy it
they usually hold it for longer than 30 days...my domain has been expired for almost 2 months and its still under a hold for re-reg. not happy at all because it was an $0.88 domain but they want like $20 to renew. sssshhhhyyyeeeeaahhhhh right. so im waiting for expiry to rebuy at 0.88 and its taking FOREVER to expire.

What registrar did you use? Some registrars hold the domain for themselves iirc.

Namecheap.

also just upgraded to this version of freeshop. downloaded a game just fine, but DLC goes right to suspended after starting to download. the game is Pic-a-Pix Color USA region if anyone would like to duplicate the issue.

maybe its just this game? i tried launching it first to see if maybe it needed to be launched before DLC, but no dice. i believe it might just be this game though - this game launches, then downloads the DLC in game, then you can purchase items in that section of the game - so essentially its free DLC but paid once you download the free DLC

iirc, Namecheap holds onto the domains for about 2 months, then auctions it off, if it sells, well, then whoever bought it can sell it at whatever price they want. If it fails auction, it will be released in ~90 days. Had a domain on there that I didn't care for, and it was funny seeing it actually get sold in auction and the buyers wanting a premium price for it. It was eventually back as an inactive domain after 2 years from when it expired. Never renewed it even after that lol.

As for the game issue, have you tested another game? Cause it looks like that title keys site is down, not sure if that would be affecting it though.

I have a couple of feature requests:
  • Back up save data whenever a title is deleted
  • Restore save data on install when backed up save data is found
  • MiNT replacement
  • Install new updates of a game (like Swapdoodle) that do not have a separate update title without needing to uninstall and reinstall

The first two would be huge

I seem to be extremely unlucky in that I was just about to use that title key website for the first time. Are there any encTitleKey.bin mirrors floating around? I don't want a direct link, just confirmation as to whether an up-to-date mirror of encTitleKey.bin exists

That's not a good idea. There's no guarantee it will go back into the general pool of available domains, it could instead be listed at a high price.

As far as I know, no. There is a high risk associated with hosting the keys that not many people are willing to take on

If there is one, I don't think many would use it

A few people downloaded it, but The site's down until the owner renews the domain.

Thanks for the replies! I'll just have to be patient then, I wanted to know whether I was wasting my time looking for a mirror

Wouldn't it make sense for there to have an official torrent of the keys? Just as there One Guide has torrents for everything important, that way the "risk of hosting" is essentially legally nullified.

But it has to constantly update.

You'd need a place to distribute the torrent still, and the keys are updated on a constant basis, so you'd have 50 different torrents a couple weeks into trying to distribute them this way.

So I have an old copy of the enctitlekeys.bin file, hope its back up soon. Missing loads of games.

So... no additions to the freeshop library until the keys site is restored?
