Thank you for this awesome tool, I've always been super concerned when buying batteries for older consoles since a lot of people claim "New" and then ship salvaged or super old ones. I'll update this post tonight with my findings, running it on a new battery that came today.

Charged them to full and let them go about 25% (didn't want to leave on for 3 hrs for fear of image rentention)

New Battery (eBay)
min 02:27 max 03:34 avg 02:40 total 03:19:12

Factory Battery (2015 ~ 3/4 years old)
min 02:51 max 03:56 avg 03:17 total 04:02:02

well that's sort of a bummer
Guess I'l wait till this pandemic is over and just order one from Nintendo once they start shipping again.

My battery has been acting strange after not using my 3DS for about a year. This tool replicated what I was seeing with the battery pretty well. Can anyone explain this behavior? I have a new battery on the way from ebay, hopefully that does the trick.

EDIT: Got the new battery in and it is working much better, we can chock the above behavior up to a dying battery. Thanks all!

I recently got a used 3ds XL, went to test the battery and the result was this. It's my first 3DS, does anyone with experience think these metrics are good? Or do you need to change the battery?

96% -> 6%
Battery time max: 04:32.1
Battery time avg: 02:32.7
Battery time min: 00:44.1
Total elapsed time: 3:49:07.1
