So why can't I get US versions of games to work on my friends chinese R4? I worked out how to get his menu into English, but I can't get games to work at all. I try to load them but get a blank screen.

What's the deal?

when you say "games", do you mean legit games?
coz my friend has a chinese DS, and both my R4 and legit games worked fine

Chinese ds's are different and are called iQue
normal games wont run at all

also, i think that the supercard patch software has an option available for ique ds's
wether it just patches a game differently or it needs to be a iQue game before i dont know
im not 100% sure though

Not sure what you mean by "legit". The games are ROMs, and they work on my R4. But on his R4, they fail. The games he already had on there, the ones with names in Asian characters, work fine on his R4. It's just hte new ones that don't.
