Gaming Region locked AU - UK

I have an Australian Wii U, will my Wii U in Wii mode play UK Wii games as I have heard that the Wii U is region locked

I'm fairly sure that UK games will still work as they're both classified under PAL.

Yeah I know for certain that is the case for Wii. Whether it has changed for the Wii U; I highly doubt it.

Well if the Wii U is E(PAL) then yes.
Check the firmware of the Wii U, i think the only firmware available right now are E, U and J

Most European Games work fine on Australian consoles. You've nothing to worry about.

Australia has always been part of the European region when it comes to games, same thing with the 3DS. I think you can check the firmware in the settings and be able to see that it's the E version.
As already pointed out the Wii U comes locked to either Japan, US or Europe, the region locking isn't more specific than that so don't worry.

Well all the games (DS,3DS Wii, Wii U) i bought in the UK work in my AU Wii U..

Haven't tested Tank Tank Tank yet (Not released in AU yet asfar as i know.. BUT in UK!!!)

Yea, Tank Tank Tank is released I saw it in the shops yesterday.

Well i guess thats what i get for reading the Wikipedia Wii U game list...
I got it cheap in the UK anyway.. so happy about that.. Not sure how good it will be though...
