If I'm not mistaken Iron mask has it working on an ntsc Wii. If you ask rather nicely I'm sure he will at the very least confirm this. I'm in the proccess of getting mine working. at least I will be as soon as I get a copy of an import game.........

Correction. I do not have any JAP games working yet through disc channel that require Japanase text display. I have them showing in the disc channel and they say nothing at all in the caption. When I hit START the screen goes GREEN. So I think you just misread that. I am still experimenting with different hacks and tweaks..no luck yet...actually I have given it a rest for the rest of the day until I see someone else either catching up to this or finding a better way... but it seems to me the only solution with JAP games using Preloader and CIOScorp together is using one of the infamous loaders by Wiigator or the Softchip Team...and possible GECKO OS channel which I have never cared to try with my softmodded Wii. As of now my Wii's state is still the way I left it on the "Wiicrazy" path which means slow boot times and different patching...because I have my hacks.ini inserts disabled for now just to try some other possibliities... It's actually getting to a point with me to just accept the fact that this is actually going to be as good as it gets until a certain 1,2, or 3 biased Guru's come up with a real solution whether it be by LEGAL ways or ILLEGAL ways..at this point I could care less... it's really all in FUN..and of interests of a life long hobbie of making things do more then what they were intended to do... call it my addiction, curiousity, devotion, or escape it is what it is... and I am sure some of you feel the same way about Wii Homebrew as I... It's fun and no one is trying to really profit financially, but to rather play "God" with something that was never intended to be PWNED so easily but have so many cool features to explore, exploit, and enjoy.

Anyways...I got a real deep there.. but what the hell, right!?

Cheers fellas!

LMAO Too true my good sir. If I actually cared about legallity I'd be bored as all hell. Regardless it is basically my hobby to make things do more. make them able to work in way's they aren't meant too or a way that is generally not possible for most. It's basically what drives me to do the things I do. I'm not exactly what you call a pirate but rather a Hobbiest/pirate.

lol It's kind of the only thing out there to keep me from just loosing it...... I'm always working and if I'm not I have to be doing something till I'm so physically or mentally exhausted that I have to sleep. If I don't I just go crazy lol.

So as not to have a complete waste of a post does anyone know if the softchip loader's source was ever released?

So has anyone managed to get this working to boot out of region games except for nutta_nic?

this is pretty much what ive been messing with on my hardmodded PAL wii using starfall patches to boot jap games from disc channel you need to use anyregion changer to switch language to Japanese, PAL uses will also have more compatibility switching the video mode to NTSC. From disc channel the wii must match the disc's default region settings for language and video mode minus a few exceptions, as i said before a preloader app is needed that sets the system settings from the disc region but then you would have to reboot if changing disc.

hey nutta_nic, launch one of your NTSC games with gamma and tell me what game ID it shows right before it launches.
super paper mario RBRE01

And when you open the ISO image with W.i.U does it show region as Pal or NTSC. Please confirm this. Very important. I know in the main System Menu thread you said WiiScrubber identified the ISO as NTSC, but I would like that confirmed by W.i.U.

i,ve deleted the img now but i'm cuerrently creating another one

you have to remove preloader in order to uninstall starfall... just install the system menu wad and run starfall all the hacks should say not installed so press 2 to uninstall the hacks(not sure if this is really necessary but i did it to be safe) then install preloader again

remove preloader with a system menu wad or cios downgrader or anyregion changer, then remove starfall hacks then re-install preloader, i personally used the wad i extracted from bushings iso

Nutta, do you have Davi92's hacks.ini in NTSC format. Just wondering if there are some differences between it and what we've been using. thank for posting if you have it.
