Hacking Regarding Wiikey setup discs...

Do I need to use the 1.0 disc first, or can I just use any of them?

You can use any Config Disc. It doesn't matter which version. If you updated your Wiikey to 1.9b then you have to use the upcoming Config Disc 1.3 to turn on region-free for GC games.

Just saw that Config Disc 1.3 along with the official update have been released, so use that.

are there different versions of the WiiKey.. I mean hardware wise..
or as long as it says "WiiKey" everybody should be fine?

Adding a question of my own here. I apologize if this is a really dumb question. Is there anyway to confirm that the 1.96b update installed successfully? Like, for example, does the 1.3 or 1.2 Setup disc not work properly if you don't have 1.96b installed? My 1.3 disc is working fine, so if that's an indication my upgrade worked then great! I just want to make sure my 1.96b is properly installed and I don't know of a reliable way to test that. I guess aside from playing a Gamecube game with the streaming audio to see if it's been fixed, but I don't have any of those titles to try.

burn the config 1.3 disc from the wiikey website and see if it boots without error, then you know the update went correctly.
