Hacking Reformatting console and reinstalling mods

Hello!

I recently purchased a wii-u that came with a SD card and an external hard drive with various back ups and other apps. Everything was preset for me and all I had to do was plug everything in and begin playing.

The issue I'm running into though is that whomever sold this to me did not remove any of the other miis on the console beforehand (i'm aware at least one had to remain with the "DO NOT TOUCH" app on it) and all the miis are password protected. I'm assuming the SD card and hard drive have everything necessary already on them so I wanted to see if there is a simple way to reformat the system to get rid of the extra miis and start fresh with just mine. Silly I know but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, thanks!

Do NOT reformat the console. It will brick your Wii U.

Honestly, if you aren't good with this console hacking stuff, you should just leave everything as it and just ignore the extra miis.

If your goal is to reformat the console you have to properly and safely uninstall Coldboot Haxchi first, and following that, reformat the console, which will disassociate any NNIDs with the console, and remove all access to all of the games on any NNIDs on the console, effectively resulting in it being factory reset.

From there to rehack you'd need to purchase a legit Nintendo DS game (Brain Age recommended) from the Nintendo eShop on your NNID and follow one of the guides available for getting a console hacked from stock again.

This is a lot more trouble than it's worth and I really don't recommend doing this unless you really take the time to research into what you are doing.

Hey I really appreciate you taking the time to write that out and warn me of the difficulty of the process.

I forgot to mention that when I contacted the original seller he DID offer to make a label for me to send the console to him so he can redo the whole process with just one Mii on the console. My only reservation of doing that is if I can trust that they would even bother sending it back after the fact since it would be a personal transaction vs. one through the site I originally purchased the console on.

Thanks again, until I decide whether to trust him or not I'll just ignore the other Miis.
