So my house burned down not long ago and in the ashes I found my copy of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, seemingly undamaged, however when placed in a switch it pops up as the card can't be read after a moment of hesitation. I am thinking because it's just a big flash memory chip the heat wiped the data on the chip and I really don't want to buy another copy when this one is right here. Is there anyway to reflash the game data into the chip?

Nope can't it's called a ROM for a reason

You're only real option is to put it in a modded switch and see if you can at least dump the certificate. Then you can download an XCI off the Internet and attach the certificate to it so it acts as a retail copy. You still won't be able to play online with it though, but you could use it with the nintendo switch online save backup. If you want to play online or use it in a retail console its probably beat, And if the card isn't reading at all the chances of getting the certificate off is pretty slim as well
