Hacking Reflashing bootleg gba carts using DS lite

I got some bootleg gba carts off of Aliexpress. I am wondering if I could reflash them using any homebrew for the DS lite (I have an R4i Gold RTS)

I don't think that is possible from a game console, i think you would have to solder wires to the board and inject the rom

here's an idea: we can use the DS/DS Lite to flash certain flashcards (FlashAdvance, Flash2Advance) - bootleg games often do not contain a simple "write once" maskrom but a rewritable EEPROM or flash chip. Maybe all we need to do is write enable the chip by jumping the appropriate PIN on the flash chip.

Unfortunately, both of my bootleg cards have storage chips with BGA joints, i.e. they are impossible (for me) to solder to.

But there's an idea someone could try, might be worth a shot:
