the wii has a lot of really bad titles. after getting a 360, i now see. there a few GREAT titles for the wii that make it worthwhile to own (and hack). Overall, wii titles are less appealing.

I played red steel 2 for a minute, but it seemed very bland to me. maybe it gets better, but i was not impressed.

I only beat 1 wii game, No more heroes 2. and i did not beat the 1st one. but i think the problem is exposure. its so easy to get a wii game, they tend to not be special for me. when its hard to get games, like 360 and ps3, they tend to stick out. I LOVE dante's inferno for 360 and am playing through it now. that game (or a similar style) can be done on the wii and it would still retain its fun. but the devs for these games that come out are half assing it, because they know its a doomed system and their games won't sell no matter what they do.

Based on NPD figures (via Kotaku), Ubisoft's sequel, Red Steel 2, managed to sell 50,000 copies in its debut month of March -- up until the end of the NPD's catalog period, April 3. Admittedly the game was released at the tail-end of the month on March 23, but we'd still classify the sales as "decent."

A Ubisoft representative broke it down to Kotaku like so: "Considering that the NPD sales only accounted for 12 days on the store shelves and that NPD doesn't include all retailers we are looking forward to a complete month of sales data to see where we stand." We're anxious to see how it'll do in April and suggest you sheathe your "it's on Wii so it won't sell" sword until the April NPDs arrive.Lol, thread over. Nothing to see here folks.

Naw it really does have one of the worst shit to spit shinned good stuff probably since the PSX. Problem is the stuff that's not gimped or railshooter halfassed is really hard to dig for if you're not well informed. Wii can probably keep you happy on its own, but it would be hard, yet doable.

First, I hate when shit turns into crazy console fanbois wars. I don't understand it, and it always blows my mind. You say something about a console and it's like you just raped someone's little sister after stabbing their grandmother in the face.

I had the exact same experience though. And I think, judging from that one site, we both mod'd our wiis around the same time. I got a 360 around December and barely turn the Wii on now. Even when new stuff is released it's just like meh.. who cares. I tried MH:Tri but just couldn't be bothered to stop playing eternal sonata. What's messed up is for a long time all I did was tell all my 360 buddies how stupid they were and how much they were missing out on a wii. It's so easy to mod, and there are really good games for it. Screw buying games, you can get good ones for free! Now I find myself consistently dropping $60 and running cios9 or something because I simply can't be bothered to give a damn about any Wii games. It makes me a little sad how fast I dropped my love for my Wii, but eh.. c'est la vie.

You obviously haven't played a lot of third party Wii games. The fact is the Wii has some of the best third party games I've played in a while, but people just drown them out with "OH LOOK AT THE SHOVELWARE" or the fact they sell bad.

MadWorld? It's fucking amazing. It's one of the finest games you'll play in a while.

Call of Duty 4 and 5? Both are solid games, and Wii controls work great. Some people actually abandon the more feature-filled Xbox 360/PS3 versions for the Wii one because of better controls. Oh, and both sell well. CoD5 is already over a million copies (that's only in the USA) and CoD4 is closing in on the 1 million mark (again, USA only).

Red Steel 2 itself was a great third party effort. Fantastic graphics, sharp controls, great presentation, and tons of fun.

You don't sound like a Wii owner in the sense of "I own only a Wii or owned only a Wii for a good deal of the time" but more in the sense of "I got a Wii but hardly touched it."

Also, Monster Hunter Tri already sold insanely well in Japan, either way they're satisfied with sales. And I'm already seeing a lot of people here say "I'm getting it day one!"

I think you misunderstood what I said.

No matter if there are good games for the Wii, most people and gamers know the Wii for Just Dance and Wii Sports. Historically EVERY hardcore none first party game sold close to nothing. What was the last 3rd party title for the Wii to clear 1MM sales that would be somewhat identified as hardcore. I doubt there has been 10 games in the lifecycle of the Wii that sold that much. While outdated, this link shows a total of 4 hardcore games that sold more then 1MM. (http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Wii)

Since these games sell like crap, the companies making these games will not make them for the Wii. They will go to other systems to make these games. So the future Wii will be a failure for two reasons. The next PS/XOX will still have the hardcore gamers and they will naturally get the casual gamer because of the motion sensing technology they are already implementing PS3 and XBOX360. So those FPS controls you speak of will no longer be good enough as all the systems have those controls. So what does Nintendo have to rely on then? I will tell you, First Party titles and that is it. That won't be enough to keep the next Nintendo product strong. Not to mention, there is not more to innovate in terms of gaming. Wii controls and 3D Games are the future. Noone is going to care about a pulse monitor or some other stupid thing that Nintendo comes out with. BTW, how's the balance board doing for you. Mine is collecting dust.

BTW, this is coming from someone who had the Wii at launch. I played the hardcore games. And BTW, Madworld is not great by any means. Also, nothing on the Wii holds a candle to games like MGS4 or GOW3. Sorry. Also, I only own a Wii. I was debating buying a PS3. I am most likely going to buy a M11X and use Wii controls to beat PS3 and XBOX360 games.

Also, for the person stating that the Wii fails to sell games because of piracy, how do you explain sales figures on the DS? You telling me the DS is harder to pirate on then the Wii? Pirating has so little to do with sales figures it is funny. Pirating is great so that companies can blame something for their failure. A couple years back the movie industries was losing money. Their explanation was Piracy is costing us, that is why we are losing money. It had nothing to do with the craptastic movies they were releasing. Now a days, they have double digit profit figures. Has piracy all the sudden stopped? Figuring that the economy is in the shitter, doesn't it make sense that more people would pirate then go to the movies? I mean taking a date to the movies now a days is equivalent to one month of high speed internet. So this whole piracy thing is very overblown.

I was one of those who managed to complete the game before its release.

The game system is great, the swordplay works really well and the shooting is balanced nicely with it. The main problem I can see is that after they spent so long making this awesome game, they forgot about those other things like missions, plot and actual game play past the 10 minutes you spend learning new moves etc.

Great news, all wii games deserve to bomb and be buried next to E.T. for atari 2600. Red Steel 2 is pure crap. No surprise there. The wii has:

The worst controls this generation

The worst graphics this generation

The worst online this generation

The worst games this generation

It takes a lot of skill to accomplish this, but the Wii is by far the worst gaming console ive ever had the unfortunate privilege to own. I hate it more with every passing day, but i own every console every gen so i wont throw the system into the trash yet.

If you guys think wii games are good, get a 360/PS3 and you'll realize how much you're getting robbed on your gaming time. Its sad to spend time playing these wii games when MUCH better games exist. If you cannot afford anything but the Wii, don't lie to yourself that its a great system. It is not.

*dumb stuff*

I just kinda went into this on my blog. Why do you care?

If you like the PS3, good for you. I think it's a good system. But I'm not strapping you down and shoving a Wiimote in your mouth. If you don't like the Wii, good for you, don't play it or even go into the scene then. You can talk to your friends about the cool new PS3 games out there. I'll be happy enough playing Super Mario Galaxy while you play God of War III or whatever you like to play on the PS3. The only thing I've seen you ever "contribute" (I put that in internet air quotes because it's not really contributing, it's just being a drag to the forum) is a bunch of useless hate speech that no one gives a crap about. If you're going to debate why the Wii is bad, do it somewhere else or use logic that doesn't revolve around flaming and fanboyism. You're just as blind as your typical Nintendo fanboy.

I'm sick of your crap. I'll say that right now. Every single thread that eventually leads back to "Is the Wii good?" (even in the smallest ways) has your name on it, throwing out your same old rhetoric that has gotten to nowhere but derailing threads and ruining potentially good discussions. Quite honestly, you're dead weight on the forum.

That's my speech. I really don't care anymore about you or your useless dragging on the forum, now that I got all that out. If anything, this thread should be locked. It's not leading anywhere good.

Yeah really...seriously dude if I were a moderator here long ago I would have been dropping 1wk bans on your rights to post at this site for each time you did your tired ass repetitive Wii trolling. You're aggravating, your arguments have at best grains of truth most the time (other than we know its online sucks) and you just like being a douche trying to crater threads. Just shut the fuck up and go away, or at least learn to control your moron fanboy blind tendencies you child.

'm with Guild, someone lock this thread, or erase all 3 of our posts and ban him so it can keep flowing normally.
