Oh noooo!!! I just got the RROD on my flashed console. I can't send it to Microsoft, because they'll see that it was modded. Does anyone know of an alternate fix I can do?

I really don't want to shell out another 300 bucks for one of these things. The horrible part is that I went straight after modding it and burning a few games. I didn't even play the games I burned, really. I just tried a bunch, and then they sort of lost importance when I had gotten them for free. The last 4 games I've played on it I bought, ME 2, FFXIII, Dragon Age Origins, and Skate 3.

it isn't that hard of a process, i mean if you were able to flash your console you can surely fix it

You got a new DIY project on your hands, you gonna have to open your 360, remove X-clamps, and apply thermal paste.

there are two methods for fixing this you can either buy an x-clamp repair kit which may or may not fix it

or you can heat gun the graphics chip which works 99% of the time

Have your 360 on its flat side since tower prevents air from flowing in, keep it away from dust, and keep it in a cool area.
You can also add another fan, but this can get you banned.

Problem comes from when the console actually cools down so not much can be done on that fact.

basically when the motherboard cools the thermal expansion reverts, in which that breaks the solder joints

kind of like when you heat up plastic and then cool it back down again, and cracks and breaks off

the RRoD is very random anyway, may happen may not, but common sense can help delay the issue if it were ever to occur.

for some ive fixed, it took a week or so and they then died of e74

for some it lasted fro another year and a bit, for some they're still going strong

word of advice : if you ever get RRoD, fix it, sell it, buy an arcade for 200$ (something from the 2009+ range) slap your HDD on top recover your Gamertag and your off
