Yes, you get a recording of the last 30 seconds, but I assumed the OP was asking about longer than that/ongoing recording.

It's using DVR to capture gameplay, so it's limited to 30 FPS and not so high quality.

Could a homebrew app be made that AUT automatically makes your switch press the "capture" button every 30 seconds? Lol

Play for an hour then you could just slap all your videos into an editor timeline and there you go.

This doesn't work on my hacked/homebrewed switch though... any ideas? it just says 'cannot capture video for this software' for every game I play

Look up "Sysdvr" here. You can connect your switch to a pc and then use something to record the footage from your pc screen. Like Twitch studio or something
