the oracle games don't really count because:

1. they were for gba :/

2. they weren't 3D

Did you think Zelda started off as a 3D Game or something? Well over half (and in actual fact, nearly 2/3) of all Zelda titles are in 2D, and almost half of the Zelda titles are handheld titles.

1. Legend of Zelda
2. Zelda 2
3. Link to the Past
4. Link's Awakening
5/6. Oracle of Ages/Seasons
7. Minish Cap
8.Four Swords
9. Four Swords Adventures

1. Ocarina of Time
2. Majora's Mask
3. Wind Waker
4. Twilight Princess
5. Phantom Hourglass

Your logic fails big time dude.

Mario and luigi super star saga 1 and 2 are my favorites ever, along with paper mario and paper mario thausand years old door.
Also Skies of arcadia wa very good, I only hated those random battles that happened every 30 seconds or so.....

zelda games except zelda II are not rpgs. not even remotely close to them. the story telling role playing aspect has followed suit to other genre of games but rpgs are closely classified as other games are to certain things.

for rpgs they must include 2 things which is some sort of statistical setup for characters to describe their attributes (hp, mp, atk, def, spd, agl, etc.) and a method of increasing these attributes which is most commonly by exp/leveling from defeating enemies.

as you can see most zelda games doesnt have this and require you to find items to increase str and hp which is mainly used in the action/adventure genre of games. as for games, the ds seems to be lacking traditional rpgs which is mainly on consoles. the ds mainly can only handle strategy/tactical ones.

RPG?....

Digimon World DS
Pokemon Diamond or Pearl
Mega Man Star Force Dragon, Leo or Pegasus
Lunimous Ark

Definition of RPG:

Something that people think is an RPG. You'll know when you see it.*

* Warning: You may not know when you see it. RPGs have been directly linked to lack of muscle use eye strain cancer and not having a life. Use at own risk.
