Zelda is not actually a rpg, more like action-adventure, but...
It's > all. Just because it is Zelda.

Heh, I've read the arguments and do not wish to repeat it here. It's as bad as nVidia vs ATI, Intel vs AMD, (flame wars)... [IMG]

In a Zelda GAME, you're PLAYING the ROLE of Link...

By your logic, 99% of all video games are RPGs.

Zelda is indeed fun, but it's not a RPG. You can't makes choices that will affect the game in any Zelda.

Zelda is fun for people that like puzzles. I like puzzles. I also like flowers. But that doesn't make me hate RPGs. Go RPGs! Cakes and puppies, oh my.

I personally found FFCC RoF more fun than Zelda. You get more recommendations if not everybody thinks Zelda > All, so I'll throw in a new game =P.

    Glad you got the joke!
I would hesitate calling grinding games "RPGs" just because you gain experience points in them. But I am an elitist and hopelessly try to compare console RPGs to their tabletop (or western) cousins!

In Zelda, you can't makes choices that will affect the game(or the ending). It's a action game, and it's never gonna be a RPG.

You've apparently never played either of the Oracle games.

Zelda is indeed an RPG. RPG has become a pretty vague genre description though. Zelda would be an action/puzzle solving/rpg whereas a game such as final fantasy 7 is a turn based RPG.

And in final fantasy, or Dragon Quest, you can? I mean, apart from raising a golden chocobo...

I think basically RPGs are a genre that is story-oriented and based on character development (gameplay and story).

Zelda isn't one, 'cause link is a mute.

    That does NOT count.

That is an abomination of all that is Zelda.
