Hacking Reason to keep ps4 on 1.76 ?

My friend got a ps4 from his colleague. It is still on 1.76.

Is there any reason he should keep it that low or should he just update it to 4.05?

If you want to play backup games, then update to 4.05.

or you could try to sell it to make some $$, since low fw systems are pretty rare these days.
