i made a picture to demonstrate what my problem is

(i added the lines in paint, just imagine that they're black)

P.S

mine is the wii edition, i just got a random screenshot to explain my point,

the bars that are appearing are black, i just used grey to illustrate my point better

the bars always appear during the game.

You got a PAL Wii? Cause if you do, and have a decent tv use 60hz.
If you have combonet cabels (bought seperatly) you should use 480p.

I use 480p, and there is not borders on Resident Evil, and ive just tested on 60hz aswell - no borders. I dunno if this could solve your problem tho, but its a try worth.

I have the official rgb cable and when I set the wii to pal 576i(50hz) I get a green line across the bottom of the screen but when I set it to 60hz it disappears. Anyone else getting this?

I don't know the technical reasoning for it, but I heard it had something to do with a lot of widescreen TVs being made differently and that most are made a little off of 16:9. Some widescreen compatible games don't account for that so you get black bars if you have a TV that is wider than what is actually displayed. I'm not sure if anyone can understand me.

when i set my wii from 50hz to 60hz everything is all blurry looking and i think the bars may have gotten slightly bigger, or it may just be me... =/
