why my backup go to /backup/ and not to /backup/<serialnum>/

edit: also there is no option to save tsec keys

did i do something wrong ?

What you are saying, especially in regards to the "no save option" for TSEC Keys, tells me you are not using the newest version of Hekate, 4.0. This version introduced both the features you are lacking. Any backups made prior to 4.0 wont have the serial number folder. I know because I made backups before using earlier versions of Hekate and those lacked the serial number folder.

One last question please :)
I've been online with OFW and made rawnand full backup before adding CFW to my Switch.
By restoring my pristine OFW full rawnand backup, do I also need to clear logs, or I can go online without any worries?

Never clear error logs as it can flag you for a ban. This is why Hekate no longer supports clearing error logs as it introduces unnecessary risk for little benefit.

Originally I was stupid and didn't make a full emuNAND backup when first hacking my switch, just the BOOT0/1 and eMMC SYS partitions. At least I think so, I attached a screenshot of the files I wound up with.

Now I'm trying to restore back to an unmodded Switch so I can do a proper emuNAND backup. Can this be achieved by using CTCaer mod and these files? Is it possible to verify the unmoddedness of a Switch after restoring a backup? (Probably a question for another thread, but thought I'd check anyways)

Well you need to format the USER partition through hactooldisk. But this, only if you never went into OFW before the backup. Otherwise it may break stuff

Bugger. I bought this Switch for hacking and installed ReiNX pretty much straight out of the box, but I did go through the settings on OFW to confirm the firmware and possibly fiddle with the SD settings. Definitely didn't run any software aside from system settings though.

Is the reason that stuff might break here because my backup would be from a slightly-modified-from-untouched Switch, which might not work right with the totally untouched user part I'd get from formatting?

When in doubt, you must always do a backup of the current state. A full one (BOOT0/1 and emmc GPP).

And then try restoring the old one and see if everything is OK.
But if you haven't done anything strange, like installing NSPs and having errors from homebrew, you can have a new full backup as your main.

It states the following:
Error: No Fat/Fat32/exFat filesystem
Failed to mount SD card (FatFS Error 13).
<Make sure that a Fat type partition exists>

It displays the same error for all of the MicroSD cards I own.

I have this problem too. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Power off
Powers off the console.
When this is used, it's better to remove any sd card with homebrew/CFW/eMMC files and reboot into Horizon OS.
I’m new in switch hack but thanks to this wonderful forum and tutorials, I’ve managed to install what I wanted with no issues. I’ve upgraded from 4.01 to 5.1.0 exfat with choixdujour , so now I’ve Autorcm enable and power off via Hekate or sx os menu, (both are truly shutting off as I checked with my dongle), but I don’t understand this advice of removing the sd card...could someone explain to me... Thanks

You cannot remove the SD card when the console is on aka in Horizon (or HOS). If you do, it causes the Switch to reboot. Removing it while it is turned off, or in RCM, is fine since the console is not in Horizon and doesn't suffer from this reboot.

That's a very old advice. Ignore it.
I can't remember why I wrote it, but probably in case Nintendo started scanning the SD.

Edit:
@Draxzelex
He's talking about the hekate power off. I need to update this guide..

Thank you both of you for yours answers , I was guessîng something about online and Nintendo Scanning thé sd as you mentionned @CTCaer

So hopefully I am fretting over nothing, but I restored my Clean Nand Backup using Hekate yesterday to confirm if I could still go online and am wondering why all 4 games that I have now shows a cloud like icon and gives me the message "The Software data is not downloaded" when I click on any title. Didn't have this when I last used the Clean Nand. Is this a cause for concern banwise?
