Wasn't sure where to post this, but here we go.

Battery draining in RCM is a problem for everyone, specifically when you hit 0% and can't recharge fast and properly.
If you are new in switch hacking, you probably don't know why it's blocked and the switch show a black screen.
Don't really good for new end user...

Other problem is because the screen is black, you can think the switch is off but it isn't, simple.

My idea is to "inject" a splash screen for the RCM Mode, I don't really know if it's possible and I don't really know of what I really talk about, so take it easy!

It will be useful for us to know if the switch is powered on, and new user will be able to know what happen a little more.

Thanks for reading!

RCM is Nvidia's low level recovery embedded in the Tegra chip. It does not contain code to interact with switch displays ect. It simply waits for the code you provide it which then can control the behavior of the hardware / software.

RCM is meant to just run enough code to accept booting images in case of bootrom issues. What you are describing can only be achieved through deploying a payload which defeats the purpose since you will already know it's in RCM mode. The best practice is to either stay in Horizon OS, or disable autorcm.

If RCM could be modified to execute code itself, we would have been using it to auto boot payloads / cold boot without need for an external device.
