I want to get one of these. This will be my first introduction to one, but I've been looking into it for a while. I wanta complete package or something that I can plug into the hdmi in my tv and go. Especially one that can run/upgrade to windows 10.
Wouldn't mind having ubuntu, bu I already run that on my mbp. I guess just whatever ones the newest one. Anybody have any suggestions on a certain one to get, or where, and which package to buy?? Thanks for any suggestions.
I'm going to sound like an idiot, but I have heard of these things but run into too much jargon.
CAn this function well as an HTPC with say XMBC (Kodi)? What else do I need to actually build one?

Whelp. Raspi is almost a full blown Linux Machine.
Almost? I seem to recall running several distros of Linux, even quite popular ones, on my pi and approaching modifying what it does using Linux/Unix style approaches to things. I once saw someone say something like "Android is Linux somewhere under all that Java" and I agree with that, however full fat Linux on a pi is not even a oddball hack sort of thing.

I meant like a PC running Linux.
It already runs Linux like a PC :^)
I think the phrase you'd be looking for would be "a full blown x86 Linux Machine", in which case you'd be wrong anyways since it's still using an ARM CPU which puts it exactly no where near a "full blown Linux machine"
