I'm having a hell of a time with random lockups and they do appear to be completely random; the other night I played a game for over 2 hours without a problem, last night I could barely play 15 minutes without a lockup. I've been using the latest version of USB Loader GX, however tonight I did try the Configurable USB Loader and had a lockup after about 30 minutes. I can't tell whether it's my hard drive, USB enclosure or some IOS that I missed (the last one I'd be surprised with since I just used ModMii to "rehack" my Wii).

The hard drive is a 160GB Western Digital Caviar Blue, model #WD1600AAJB which does not show up on the compatibility list, however there's another WD Digital Caviar close to it that looks like it should work great. I'm using this USB 2.0 enclosure that I picked up at a CompUSA a few years back that's fairly barebones and simple, no options to it or anything.

Here's my sysCheck output:

I normally hate doing this but I'm bumping this thread in the hopes that someone has ANY suggestions. I'll only do this once.

Mhm...seems like you're using the d2x-cIOS (I haven't seen any other cIOS with such a strange version number, so I guess it is that version, correct me if I'm wrong), which, afaik, isn't compatible with USB Loader GX until r1080 (that you would have to compile yourself, it isn't an official Update). That could be one reason.

Now, you also have some other cIOSes installed (way to many, imo., you should delete some, but anyways...), so you could try to download these boot.dols, and replace the existing one with the IOS222-Version. Then try again. If it still won't work, try to only Update IOS222 with this Installer (use Base 56 if possible), and then try again.

If that still doesn't work, it probably is the Hardware, could be the enclosure, could be the Drive going into sleep mode. You should be able to disable the sleep mode with Software from the WD-Homepage, but I don't know much about this, use Google to help you.

No, you don't have to compile yourself, you can just update to it using ULG's own updater. That's what I did at least. I now have v2.1 r1080 it works well with d2x-v3. I updated a while back.

No, the own updater works only with final revisions, like 2.0 and 2.1 (unless Dimok put a beta in the update server).
If you want the 1080, you can download it here :
http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/iss...Owner%20Summary

• Download the version you use (if you are using 249 as main IOS, use the 249 version, otherwise take the 222. It fasten the boot process if you use the same IOS than your "main IOS" set i the preferences.)
• Extract boot.dol and replace your device:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol file with this one.

Alternatively, you can try using Hermes cIOS 222 (base 38), or 224 (base 57), it's a good choice too.
If it's not freezing with hermes cIOS then it's a cIOS or base problem.

@Blue-k :
The cIOSx d2x version number was renamed starting from v3.
It's now reflecting both the base cIOS revision (rev21) and the d2x version (v003) : 21003

USBloaderGx allowed only Waninkoko cIOS version up to v30 + 65535, r1080 update that to allow up to v30000.
