Hacking R4iDS Gold VS Acekard 2i

I need to make a decision between the two. Can somebody help highlight the differences between the two cartridges as far as compatibility / reliability /ease of use / etc.?

I own a DS lite and plan on using it as an mp3 player primarily but also plan on doing some gaming as well.

P.S. Would buying a DSi compatible card for a few dollars more be worthwhile for a DS lite owner? EX: AK2i vs AK2.1?

I would recommend a acekard 2.1 but a acekard 2i if you plan on getting a dsi. The one thing yu should know is that you will need moonshell to play any media files.

Screw that, get an Ak2i, so if you go to a friends house or whatever and he has a DSi you can play your games on it.

I'd get an Ak2i just so it'll work on all four platforms.

However, the R4i Gold from r4ids.cn can run Wood after a deal with Yellow Wood Goblin, so it's a great choice.

The AK2i can bypass generic APs in games, while the R4 Gold has to wait for updates. On the plus side, YWG's updates come out pretty quickly.

If you're planning to use the card for Moonshell / MP3, you can use every $3 card for it.

Akaio (Acekard 2) bypasses Anti Piracy potection, Wood (R4i Gold CN) needs updates.

But R4 Ultra and R4i Gold COM can use Akaio 1.8.1 as well and are both much cheaper than an Acekard.

AKAIO has a deal with the Acekard team but you never know when YWG might stop updating WOOD.
