Hacking R4i3D issues with DSi. Please help!

My girlfriend got me a DSi for Christmas, and I immediately ordered an R4. I ordered the R4i3D ( http://www.dhgate.com/r4i3d-v1-41-v1-4-1ca...ef21da5db0.html ) and purchased a 4GB MicroSD card to use with it. I formatted the MicroSD card and put in the Game Played Kernel via http://www.r4i3d.com/index.htm?c=gamekernel (R4i English V1.4.1L).

I played games for hours on end for four days and on the fifth day, my DSi was unable to read the card. It wouldn't show up at all. My DSi said that there was no game cartridge and occasionally it would appear again if i restarted repeatedly, but an error message kept showing up and saying to restart the DSi and check the manual for troubleshooting issues.

The R4i3D is supposed to support the latest firmware update, and as far as I knew my DSi was running on V1.4.1U the entire time I was playing.

I don't know what the issue is and truth be told I am new to the scene of R4's so please excuse me if this is just me sounding stupid. Please try to help me out. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

As brutally honest as he was, he's right. The R43D is about as fake as it can get. Go for an original R4, which will be able to play the newest games.

The gold plates don't make proper contact with the slot-1. You could probably do the paper trick, but you are really just better off with a more reliable card that isn't a cheap unsupported clone. And you can get one pretty cheap too

I actually had this card for a while. I bought it as a joke because it had the Nintendogs puppy shopped on the front and claimed to be future compatible with the 3DS. I couldn't resist, and because it was $4.62 I thought what the hell, it's priceless for the comedy. Although the box indeed was priceless the card is absolute, pure sin. It's a TTDS clone for one (the worst kind IMHO) ,additionally, it takes like a minute for the roms to load. So I just gave the card away and kept the box. (unfortunately, you have the Kid Icarus version which has no practical or comedic value--totally worthless)

I think your card might have stopped because you updated to 1.4.1? These shady clone merchants have been known to lie about firmware compatibility, but it could just be lousy build quality.

I have both and I prefer the R4iGold:

*firmware updates every 2 or 3 weeks not 3 months
*faster OS
*much better build quality
*cheaper
*better battery life (personally tested them)
*no spring loaded card slot -- less chance of breakage
*pre-flashed to work with 1.4.1, Acekard isn't (ridiculous, I know)

I would go for the Acekard2i because it has a few more features(AAP)
But the R4i Gold as slightly better build quality(my opinion)
Otherwise, they are very alike
