Hacking r4i sdhc 3ds rts Questions

Ok so I got a R4i sdhc 3ds rts question is
I'am trying to play pokemon black 2 but with recent firmware it freezes randomly during gameplay and with Ysmenu it freezes at name your character. I know wood stops this but can my card even use wood? i hear it bricks. Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this am new here.

Ds Lite
r4i sdhc 3ds rts
Micro Sd: SanDisk 16gb Class 4 sdhc
I have tried RetroGameFan's Alternative Game Patches as well.
Black 2 roms i got 2 the Friend one and the Dsi enhanced one

Your card doesn't support wood. Are the ROMs ap patched?

i tried using the ds scene rom tool I got off here and still does it maybe its the class of the sd card ? i hear class 10 is good idk
