Hacking R4I sdhc 1.4.3 update, yaaay

I'm sorry bud, i dont think there is, as soon as you press start it just sits there writing the file to the card i guess.

You could try swapping the cards before you start it though, maybe it reads the update to the dsi's memory before writing it to the card.

well the menu is written into the RAM so wont freeze, as long as the flash file is there also it should work

With your great support, i've made it!

i couldnt do it with my card, but i traded my card

with a R4iTT card.. then, i downloaded files.. I found a DS.. updated the card's flash there; then put the card to my Dsi , IT WORKED!

Now, i want to some more questions, but simple ones, im sure you'll have idea for these too.

1 - How can i use wifi? On cards software, only WEP supported as i see... No WPA? is there a way for that?
2 - Can i play multiplayer games through roms? i think i can; but i wanted to ask..
3 - Does Dsi update automatically in some way? or it must ask me to do it?

1. not sure, i think you will have to use WEP.
2. multiplayer games do indeed work through the flashcard.
3. you have to update the Dsi manually, it will not update automatically.

Hi all, what if your DSi is already updated to 1.4.3U? The reason I ask is because I have a R4i card with 1.4.2. and I have already updated the kernel to version 1.42b and my DSi will not read the R4i card. I get the the following onscreen "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting" Seems to me that your DSi had to have 1.4.2 or lower to do the update? Am I correct? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You are correct i think, same advice i gave to melihkoray, find a dsi on 1.4.2 or a dslite and load the 1.42b firmware onto your card, when you boot it, go to config/upgrade, it should update the kernel on the card to support the 1.4.3 firmware on the dsi. hope this helps

I think some people are not understanding that once the dsi has got 1.4.3 on it, putting the new 1.42b firmware on their cards will not make them 1.4.3 compatible. the firmware cannot do the upgrade on a 1.4.3 dsi as the card cannot boot to upgrade the card kernel.

Ive got AK2i and my friend's R4i-sdhc. His daughter accidently power off DSi and she bricked r4i.
I was trying to run flash.r4i (renamed to flash.nds) but AK says it's loading. Nothing was loaded

R4i-sdhc should make flash.nds like other teams. Hoping they do it.

How am I suppose to upgrade my r4i SDHC card to support dsi 1.4.3?

When I choose config/upgrade option, all it shows is the current version and it doesn't show the newer version.

What machine did you put your card in to try. ds lite. dsi? Also if its a dsi, what version is it on?

I have a DSI XL i got new with the 1.4.3 software on it, i put in the R4I3DS (with the 1.4.3u firmware on it) in and it gives me an error message and asks me to reset the dsi. any ideas?

It wasn't a r4i3ds card i had so i cant really help you i'm afraid. i am assuming it is different firmware for the 3ds version, it was 1.42b for the normal r4i sdhc. Looking on the site the new firmware is 1.43b. can you download it and try it.

I had version 1.3 however, I went to a friend's house and he downloaded the flipnote and wifi, so then, that was when it upgraded to 1.4.3, so now, I can't use it anymore and it says some crap about restarting the system or whatnot

and I'm not really sure what to do anymore? so can I ask for some help about which r4 I can use now so I can play again...thanks

Right so what you're trying to say is your friend updated your DSi to 1.4.3 and now you want to know if you can update your www.r4i-sdhc.com card to work on it.

If your r4i-sdhc.com card has 1.4.1 or above in the gold star then you can run the updater through the latest kernel but only on a DS/DSl or an unupdated DSi.
