Hacking r4i pocket firmware

hi all.....new here and not very tech. minded.

Here's the qestion.......my little brother bought me a r4i pocket card for my daughters dsi.....its a 1gb card and has v1.4 firmware on it.

I cant get certain new roms to works.

Any ideas would be great.

1. it's wrong section
2. r4i can't support DSi with V.1.4
3. Buy AceKard 2i that can support DSi V.1.4, and has lot game compatiblity
4. I suggest you're using R4i Gold? Because i have BOUGHT that, and.... can't get a SINGLE ROM TO WORK. Go buy AceKard2i

On the packaging its says 'R4i pocket' and it also says that on the card....when i boot up and choose the starwars alliance game it takes me to the r4i menu and in the top righthand corner its says v1.4.......it thought that might have been the kernel version....???

As i said and can probably tell i am not that good with these things.....be gentle......and any help is most welcome.

its prolly a DSTT clone, you could try the newsest ---> firmware aviable for your card.
or try the DSTT ---> firmware

and you should take a look at this ---> section.

again thanks for fast response....i checked the list of firmware updates and couldnt see the r4i pocket.....i dont know what other name it would come under.....

I downloaded kernel v1.9b i think it was but that didnt work.....i really have no clue about these things...doh

It IS a DSTT clone, I got it to work with games like HGSS JP on my brother's R4i Pocket by using the DSTT firmware and renaming TTMENU.DAT to R4i.PK

am posting from my phone so cant post a picrure.....its sounds like it is a clone.......the latest kernel update from thier site was on the 30th april and it was v1.4......

If all the DSTT users can run games like HGSS US with patches, so can you. In my last post, I told you that it was a DSTT clone. Just get the latest DSTT kernel and rename TTMENU.DAT to R4i.PK.

Sorry for coming across stupid...its just am browsing using my phone as i dont have the internet in my house at the moment.....would it possible to post a link to the latest kernel, if possible??.....broswing on my phone isnt that good.

Get the latest infolib.dat, extinfo.dat and savlib.dat in DSTT / TopToy DS section.

RENAME:
infolib.dat to INFbase.dll
extinfo.dat to extinfo.dll
savlib.dat to SAVEDB.DLL

..and put it in SYSTEM folder.

I just had a go at this....and it still didnt work....was trying to load the new sonic racing rom and it came up load error 4 or somthing like that.

Bummer.

My friend came back from China the other day and bought (on a whim) this R4 3DS Pocket for me.
I already have a Supercard for my DSLite and that works fine so I don't really need it..however if it worked on my 3DS that would be tempting.

Now, everyone knows how dodgy the goods are from China, and I think this card looks really dodgy, so i want to check before i use it (on my DSLite..I don't think I'd risk it on the 3DS).

I've uploaded photos of the card to see if anyone can decipher if it's real or not.

Even the sticker is a bit skewered and worn on the front..not to mention there are a few scratches on the back.

I haven't even tried it yet...I guess because it's so unfamiliar to me..out of ALL the R4 cards. This is the one card I can find the LEAST bit of information about..and the site link isn't even a real site (as someone previous to me linked on this post).
