> Did you go to www.linfoxdomain.com to try the other R4 firmwares ?? (there's at least 23 flashcards there with 'R4i' in the name)
> What does the sticker look like ??
> Does the R4 have a web address on it's sticker to help us know what it is ??
> What is actually written on the sticker ??
> What colour is the flashcard &/or circuit board ??

Sorry for all the questions but it may help us determine what card you actually have.
you may even be lucky that the 'WOOD R4' firmware might be able to be used - that is constantly updated & works with the newer games

Hmm no web address on the card sticker ???
OK - well according to linfox website there's 2 possible 'r4i SDHC revolution' clones avaliable

One @ http://r4-v.com/, while the other is @ http://www.r4rts.cn/ ( & http://r4rts.com/ - seems like they have 2 site for the same card)

None of them seem to have a gold sticker though - the only ones I can find with a black sticker with gold 'print' that also have 'v1.4' on it (not 1.4v like you said) are @ http://r4i-gold.eu/ and http://r4i-gold.com/

So I can only suggest you could download each one & try to see it it'll work (if you happen to remember the type of box it came in - you could look @ the site picture & take a better guess to which one it might be)

I've noticed most of these though haven't been updated for ~3months, so there's is the possiblity that even if you do get a working firmware installed it will still not play any of the newer games

hi,cheers for that.
the card definately says 1.4v.the sticker does not have a website on it but the one on the box is www.r4i-sdhc.com.au
the card has a working software on it but does not play some newer games so im really after something like YSmenu to put on the card if thats at all possible?

You can try a DSTT tutorial cause you should use exactly the same files we got on the blue R4i SDHC V1.45 from www.ndsill.net !
And actually, you can see the images are hosted on http://www.r4igold.cn/

I would use my blue R4i V1.45 SHDC 'till the chip inflames

If you know the differences between these systems' linkers, you know the solution to apply to play easily.

cheers guys, despite the obvious difference of opinions.lol.iv managed to use the tt-tutorial to run ttmenu parallel to the 'r4' software so the newer games are now running.
thanks to all for the input

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting

Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

    Tandem even

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM

i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
