Hacking R4i Gold 3DS

Hi,
I have a major issue with my 3DS and R4i Gold Flash card.

I downloaded the latest Wood kernel (V1.60). Copied it to the card, but whenever I try to start any games it just gets stuck on the loading screen.

This is what my card looks like:

Any idea how I can fix this ?

The card was working perfectly before the upgrade (though I have never updated the card before).
On the root of the card there is a file "WOODR4.NDS" which is dated from 2011 (not sure this is relevant? such an old file??)

From the photo it's hard to read what says on the card...
"R4" "Reveolution for DS (DSi/DSL/NDS)"...

easy, but whats the revision on the back of the card

take everything off the Micro SD that isnt a Rom and save and extract thisto the root and you should be good to go

I'm on revision 5. I downloaded the Wood_R4iGold you linked (V1.60.rar) - deleted everything else and copied it to the card.
I'm still just getting a black loading screen

My 3DS is still on the original firmware 1.0.0-0E (I have never dared to update it afraid the flashcard would stop working).

strange
that should work, you did extract the rar straight to the MicroSD Root right?

so the _DSMenu.dat file is on the root and the folder along with it

when you get it working extract and run the following (boot the .nds files like a game, one will pass the checks and then run the file and then turn off when finished and delete the files off)
that will then allow you to at least have up to firmware 4.3.0-10 and have the flashcard working (only after you have updated the card of course)

any higher after that update the card wont boot

what games does the cart show?

I'm not sure what you are asking me to do ? Which nds files do I need to boot ?

Back up your MicroSD card and reformat with this

ah i thought you meant originally the flashcard wasnt booting

YWG changed the loading code in 1.59 and said a few people might have issues with it
but 1.59 & 1.60 are just RTS code updates but your older cart wont support that feature anyway so shouldnt make a different but might actually load lol

Ok, I give up. I have tried the Panasonic formatter, I have tried the r4ids.cn Wood v1.57 (wasn't able to download the 1.58) and all gives me just a black screen.
Perhaps it's because my NDS is still on stock fw ( 1.0.0-0E)

Once there is an update for R4i Gold , I'm just going to upgrade my 3DS to latest 6.x and try again.

if you update to 6.0.0-11 your card will never work

your card was perma blocked with 4.4.0
