Hacking r4i 3ds upgrade problem

My friend updated my 3ds to 5.1.0 and I didn't have a chance to update my r4i card. I downloaded the 1.69 kernel and I put the files in the root of my SD card and I am using my old original ds to upgrade the firmware but there is no upgrade. my current version is, Support model: ndsL ndsi 1.44, 3DS 4.4. Is there no new update or am I doing something wrong. I am not an expert in this, so if you guys could explain it in a way that anyone could get that would be great. One of my friends got me the card for me but he passed away so I can't ask him for help, any help would be grateful.

yeah that card doesnt have an update... on the card itself it says v1.44?
if so you will need another card if you want to play on your 3ds /:
im guessing its from r4i-sdhc.com ? the manufacturer.

If you want to buy another card for your 3ds i suggest a dstwo or an r4i gold...
